Anton Asistio is on the fence when it comes to finishing the upcoming MPBL season with the Bataan Risers, or fulfill his initial plan of applying for the PBA Rookie Draft later this year.
"Ang plano ko talaga is magpa-draft sana pero wala pa namang sure," Asistio said in a quick chat with Courtside Philippines.
Asistio shared that the Risers' management has been in contact with him since last UAAP basketball season, trying to tap his services.
"Actually, hindi ako pumunta doon. Kinausap na nila ako nung UAAP season pa."
The six-foot shooter out of the Ateneo De Manila University Blue Eagles is just keeping his options open.
Asistio can take the path that the former Bataan Riser Jeepy Faundo took, or take the route that Manila Stars forward Aris Dionisio is taking.
Faundo played for about five months for Bataan but had the team released him last November so he can apply for the PBA Rookie Draft the next month.
The former University of Santo Tomas Growling Tiger did apply for the Draft, and the Magnolia Hotshots took him 15th overall. Faundo then ultimately signed with the Columbian Dyip.
On the other hand, Dionisio, who also intends to join the PBA, just a played a full MPBL season with the Stars and he is about to play another one with Manila to get himself more prepared and seasoned for the pros.
