The Davao Occidental Tigers leveled their best-of-5 National Finals series against the San Juan Knights at 1-1 on Saturday in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League Datu Cup in Davao City.

The Tigers used their aggressiveness as they drew 25 fouls on the Knights while committing just 18. Davao then sank 20 of their 25 (80%) free throws while San Juan hit just 9-of-18 (50%) foul shots.

Davao also had more assists, 17-16, and total rebounds, 45-41, and blocks (5-4).

That was all the Tigers needed as the Knights made more field goals (23-of-67 compared to 21-of-61), offensive rebounds (17-13), and steals (12-5). San Juan also had fewer turnovers, 17-19.
