When the Duke Blue Devils lost to the Michigan State Spartans yesterday, April 1 (Manila time) in the Elite Eight of the NCAA National Championship, one of the intriguing questions that comes to mind was that would Zion Willamson declare for the NBA Draft?
Well, the college phenom said that there's high chance that he will do just that.
“There’s obviously a high chance that I’m going to enter the draft," Williamson was quoted as saying by Adam Zagoria of the New York Times Sports.
The Duke forward, however, is not making anything official as he will be discussing the matter with his parents.
"I'm not going to make it official because it's something that I have to talk with my parents about."
Even before he commited to Duke, Williamson was projected by the media and the fans alike to be the top overall pick in this year's NBA Draft.
Certainly, the 6-foot-7, 285-pound Spartanburg-native lived up to the hype. With his immense talent and athleticism, Williamson poured in 22.6 points, 8.9 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 2.1 steals, and 1.8 blocks per contest for the Blue Devils.
Williamson and the rest of aspiring NBA players have until April 21 to declare for the Draft.
