Gilas Pilipinas Women's 3x3 player Ella Fajardo has committed to join Division 1 school Fairleigh Dickinson University in the US NCAA.

The New Jersey-based Filipina announced the development on Sunday (Philippine time) through a Facebook post.

"I’m coming home to the next chapter of my academic and athletic journey at Fairliegh Dickinson University," wrote Fajardo, who is joining the Knights squad that finished with a 9-9 win-loss card in the Northeast conference last season.

"It has been my dream to get a quality college education and be able to play at the Division 1 level! My story has not been easy and I am working hard everyday to prove myself over and over and to earn every victory and success that come my way.

"This milestone is made possible by my faith in God and my huge support system who always pushed me to be the best version of myself!"

Fajardo helped Gilas to capture the bronze medal in the 2019 FIBA Asia U-18 3x3 Cup in Malaysia.

The 5-foot-5 Filipina baller teamed up with Kristine Cayabyab, Angel Surada, and Camille Clarin in the tourney as they took down the 2018 champion China, 14-11, for a podium finish.

Fajardo -- a New Jersey Sparks Elite Youth Basketball League standout -- played high school ball for Gill St. Bernard's School.

As a kid, Fajardo used to hone her skills in the Milo BEST (Basketball Efficiency and Scientific Training) program here in the Philippines.
