Sotto excited to play with Green in new G-League select team

Kai Sotto and Jalen Green used to be foes during the National Basketball Training Center's 2018 and 2019 events.
The 7-foot-2 Sotto then represented Ateneo High School as the 6-foot-6 Green bannered the Fil-Am Sports USA - a team of American high school standouts with Filipino descent.
Now, Sotto and Green are set to become teammates in the new G-League Select team as they both took the groundbreaking professional pathway program of the NBA's developmental league.
The former just can't wait to finally share the court with the latter.
"I haven't really played with and seen the two other players Isaiah Todd and Daishen Nix. But I'm really excited to play with Jalen Green cause I played against him and both games I lost," said the 18-year-old Sotto.
Indeed, Sotto lost to Green when their respective teams met twice, first in the NBTC 2018 All-Star game, and second in the NBTC 2019 Quarterfinals.
That Sotto being posterized by the dunking Green in both of those games were the highlights.
"Ang 'di ko inexpect nun yung tatay ko (Ervin) na after nun (madakdakan ako) niloloko ako lagi simula nung pag alis namin sa MOA Arena hanggang sa makauwi kami," said Sotto.
"Mas naiinis pa ako sa dad ko," shared Sotto with a chuckle.
"I just can't play with great players such as himself (Green). I can't wait to share the basketball court with him and learn some things with him," shared Sotto.
So who's taking the last shot? Is it Sotto himself or Green?
Sotto playfully replied:
"It depends on the coach but if the ball gets to me, I'm taking the last shot."
