Carlo Lastimosa went bonkers in Game One of the Manila-Pasig Quarterfinals matchup on Tuesday night in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League Lakan on at the San Andres Sports Complex.
The Ex-Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) player unloaded 23 points on an efficient 10-of-14 shooting from the field plus two assists for good measure.
With his performance, the Stars nipped the Realtors to move on cusp of the MPBL North Semifinals.
Asked to talk about his performance, Lastimosa said all he really wants is to win the championship for Manila
"I just want to win the championship, yun lang. Nine games pa para manalo so one down, so a lot to go,” the 5-foot-11 guard remarked.
Wanting to win a championship is one thing, but working hard to win it is something.
Lastimosa works hard in the Stars' practices, and team head coach Tino Panat can attest to that.
"Expected namin kay Carlo [Lastimosa] ‘yan kasi mataas yung kumpiyansa niya coming to this game so nilabas niya ngayon ung pinaghandaan niya talaga nung mga nakaraang practices,” Pinat said of Lastimosa's performance.
Manila can close out the series in Game Two on Saturday, February 22 at the Makati Coliseum.
And if the Stars are to finish off the Realtors, Lastimosa said they need to limit their miscues, especially after tallying 14 turnovers in Game One.
"Ang dami naming lapses pa rin sa turnovers namin, so I think mag fi-film viewing kami then titignamin yung mga mali so from there sana mag improve kami next game,” remarked Lastimosa.
