Greg Slaughter breaks silence, denies contract demands, knowledge of trade

Ginebra big man Greg Slaughter finally broke his silence almost a week after his announcement that he'll be taking a hiatus from basketball.
The 7'0" took to his twitter account to clarify things that has been reported and circulating in the social media.
Contrary to some reports saying that Slaughter demanded a raise to his salary and a 'no trade' clause to his contract, Slaughter said that he hasn't received any contract offers from the Ginebra management.
Slaughter also denied that one of the reason of his shock decision is to prevent a supposed trade that would send him to the NorthPort Batang Pier along with rookie Jerrick Balanza for Christian Standhardinger. The former Ateneo big man argued that he has no knowledge of any trade involving him prior to his decision.
"There have been a lot of inaccurate theories going around about my recent decision, here are facts. 1) I never received any contract offer. It’s unfair to say I made demands when there was no offer. 2) I was never aware of any trade," Slaughter wrote on Thursday.
Reports also confirmed that Slaughter already brought up his decision to Ginebra head coach Tim Cone during their talk after winning last season's Governors' Cup title.
Cone also reportedly wanted to sit down with Slaughter regarding his decision.
Slaughter's playing rights will remain to Ginebra though unless he gets a release to the free agency unconditionally or get traded to another team.
