Adamson comes from behind to beat Ateneo, enter second phase of stepladder Semis

Adamson University came from behind and beat Ateneo de Manila High School, 84-75, in a knockout Semifinals first phase match to enter the second phase in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) season 82 High School Boys basketball tournament stepladder Semifinals on Wednesday at the FilOil Flying V Centre.
The Baby Falcons are set to face the twice-to-beat armed Far Eastern University (FEU) Baby Tamaraws in the second phase of the stepladder Semis.
Most Valuable Player (MVP) Jake Figueroa showed why he's the MVP of the tournament, indeed. The Grade 11 student unloaded 15 points, 22 rebounds, four assists, four blocks, and two steals to lead Adamson.
John Erolon backstopped Figueroa with 16 points, five rebounds, and five assists, while Ruzzell Dominguez chipped in 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Nicole Quinal put up 13 points, six assists, four rebounds, and two steals in the victory.
The Blue Eaglets jumped on the Baby Falcons with a 22-8 start, but the latter won the middle quarters to come within a point, 57-58, heading into the fourth quarter.
Adamson then unleashed a decisive 18-2 run capped by a Jeremy Guarino basket to take an insurmountable, 75-60 lead with 5:56 left in regulation.
Forth Padrigao paced the Blue Eaglets with 22 points, eight assists, seven rebounds, and four steals as Joaquin Jamaylin provided support of 20 points, seven rebounds, and two steals.
LeBron Lopez turned in 13 points, seven blocks, and four rebounds, while Josh Lazaro scattered 12 points, 10 rebounds, and six blocks in the loss.
