SBP names Ronnie Magsanoc as head coach to PH 3x3 Olympic Qualifiers campaign

After guiding the Gilas 3x3 team to a gold medal finish in the Southeast Asian Games, 3x3 coach Ronnie Magsanoc will be at the helm for the Gilas 3x3 team for the Olympic Qualifying tournament.

Magsanoc who had coached several FIBA 3x3 teams in his stints during 2018 FIBA 3x3 World Cup in Philippines, 2018 FIBA 3x3 Challenger in Shanghai, China, and 2018 FIBA 3x3 U23 World Cup in Xi An, China will be handling the top 10 3x3 players in the country.

Chooks-to-go and its 3x3 league Commissioner, Eric Altamirano named the 10 man pool. 

Bannering the pool are the Philippines' top 1 player Joshua Munzon and top 2 player Alvin Pasaol as the country tries to make the top three of the tournament that will merit a qualification to the Olympics in Japan this July.

Karl Dehesa, Dylan Ababou, Chris De Chavez, Leonard Santillan, Jaypee Belencion, Gab Banal, Ryan Monteclaro and Leo De Vera rounded out the 10-man pool.

Only four out of the 10 said players will make the final lineup.

Meanwhile, Filipino-Americans Troy Rike and Franky Johnson were left out of the pool as they are still yet to complete their two-year residency in the country.

The Gilas 3x3 team ais bracketed in Pool C along side Slovenia, Qatar, France and Dominican Republic.
