Renaldo Balkman is set to play for Mighty Sports anew in the 31st Dubai International Basketball Tournament.

Mighty Sports head coach Charles Tiu confirmed the development to Courtside Philippines on Thursday.

"Yup, he's playing," said Tiu in a text message.

The 6-foot-8 Balkman last played for Mighty Sports when the Philippine ball club ruled the 2019 Jones Cup last July in Taiwan. He also bagged the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award there.

The former San Miguel Alab Pilipinas and San Miguel Beermen American import joins a loaded Mighty squad that boasts former Gilas Pilipinas naturalized center Andray Blatche and the 7-foot-2 wunderkind Andray Blatche.

University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) current and former stars in Thirdy Ravena, Jamie Malonzo, Dave Ildefonso, and brothers Juan and Javi Gomez de Liaño, also make up the Mighty Sports core.

Former Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) Filipino-American star Mikey Williams and Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) player Beau Belga are also part of the lineup.

The Dubai International Basketball Championship is set to start from January 23 to February 1, at the Shabab Al Ahli Club.

Mighty Sports finished as the third-place team in last year’s edition of the tournament.
