Ramos, Corpuz switch places as PBA gives thumbs up to Magnolia-Columbian deal

by Reynald Magallon, December 14, 2019 2:41pm

Aldrech Ramos and Jackson Corpuz will be switching places come the next season of the PBA.

The league approved the trade where Magnolia will be sending Ramos to the Columbian Dyip in exchange for work horse Corpuz on Friday.

Corpuz will be giving the Hotshots a huge boost in the frontline that already feature defensive aces Marc Pingris, Rafi Reavis and rookie Aris Dionisio. Corpuz has become an integral part of the Columbian coach John Cardel's rotation doing the dirty work, defending the opposing team's big man while collaring the boards. Corpuz also improved his outside game as he proved to drill the outside shot from time to time.

Ramos meanwhile will be returning to the Dyip which he suited up for in 2016. The Dyip will be adding another sweet-shooting big man which Cardel hoped to fill his roster with. Ramos will be a big boost foir the Dyip that feature a frontline of Jeepy Faundo, Eric Camson, Joseph Gabayni and their rookie Christian Balagasay. The dyip also tapped Isaac Go in the draft but won't suit up for the Dyip until the Samahan ng Basketbol ng Pilipinas release them.

Also, on another trade approved earlier this week, Phoenix acquired the services of big man Jake Pascual from the Alaska Aces in exchange of their 2020 second round picks.
