71 aspirants apply for PBA draft as Thirdy Ravena skips

A total of 71 aspirants have formally applied for the 2019 PBA Rookie draft.
The applications for the rookie draft officially closed at 5pm on Friday but a total of 21 players have beaten the deadline. However, there was no application from the initially projected number one pick of this year's draft, Thirdy Ravena.
Apprently, Ravena had decided to skip the draft and is likely to hone his skils and try his luck overseas.
Without the high flying wingman, the draft remained formidable though led by Ateneo's big man Isaac Go as well as Blue Eagles' Matt and Mike Nieto. Also submitted their names were collegiate standouts Rey Suerte, Jayvee and Jaycee Marcelino, Renzo Subido, Wendell Comboy, Hubert Cani, Val Chauca and Allyn Bulanadi.
Amateur stars like Arvin Tolentino, Sean Manganti, Mike Ayonayon, Chris Bitoon, Aries Dionisio, Hesed Gabo and the son of the Meralco Bolts head coach Norman Black, Aaron were among the aspirants who will be featured in the Draft Combine on December 4 and 5 and in the draft ceremony on December 8.
Rooselvelt Adams meanwhile leads the fil-foreigners that also features Daryl Singontiko, Mark Taylor, Jason Riley,and Travis Thompson.
In case of change of heart, the applicants have the chance to withdraw their applications until 5pm of November 30.
Other notable players who skip this year's draft were Alvin Pasaol Santi Santillan, Troy Rike and Joshua Munzon who all wanted to keep their focus on the Philippines' bid for an olympic spot in the 3x3 basketball event.
