Kiefer Ravena working double time to catch up with Gilas' SEA Games build up

The Gilas pool's latest addition Kiefer Ravena was working double time as hopes to catch up with the rest of the national squad in their preparation for the Southeast Asian Games in December.
Ravena got the call up to the national team replacing Jayson Castro and was immediately thrown into the fire, playing for Gilas when they took on Alab Pilipinas on Monday. Unfortunately, the national team suffered a 93-89 defeat which would serve as a wake-up call for the SEA Games basketball event defending champions.
"I guess it's a good wake up call for each and everyone of us thatif we don't work hard and play together this is what's gonna happen," said Ravena after the game.
"We cannot take anybody lightly especially sa SEA Games ayawnamin pagsisihan sa dulo na baka madali ka ng isa wala ka nang chance para makabawi," he added.
Ravena has yet to practice with Coach Tim Cone and the rest of the team but he was immediately utilized in the game. He only finished with two points though in limited minutes off the bench. Ravena bared that he's been trying to learn the system on his own prior to the game.
"Napanood ko yung last game and nagdrawing na rin ako ng mga plays dun sa IPAD ko, so inaaral ko na sila dahan dahan duon palang so ako kahitpapano nagagamit ko yung pagiging fast learner ko sa sistema," said Ravena
"Okay naman so far sa isang practice medyo gets ko na kung ano yung gustong iapagawa ni coach Tim," he added
with the call up, Ravena now found himself once again juggling his responsibilities to the flag and his mother club who also held their practice Monday, morning, after hacking out a 86-85 thriller against Magnolia on Sunday. Ravena however just shrugged it off.
"It's part of what we love to so we're not gonna complain about the schedule we're not gonna complain of sunud sunod na practices and this is waht we do we play," said Ravena.
For the second generation star, it was just an honor to play under Coach Tim.
"Syempre very honored I'm just trying to learn and everything from him I can use to my advantage to the PBA learning different systems especially being under coach Tim. Hopefully it works out not just for me but to the team most importantly
