With two straight Semis wins, Balanza believes Letran has momentum against San Beda in the Finals

Jerrick Balanza said the two straight wins Colegio de San Juan de Letran (CSJL) got in the stepladder Semifinals brings an advantage for the Knights, momentum-wise, as they head to the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) season 95 Men’s basketball tournament Finals.
There, Letran is set to face its age-old rival and no less than the defending champions San Beda University (SBU) Red Lions in a best-of-three series, with the Game One of the titular match unfolding on Tuesday, November 12 at the Mall of Asia Arena.
“Maganda yung pagkapanalo namin dahil momentum against dun sa San Beda,” remarked Balanza, whose Letran team beat the San Sebastian College Recoletos (SSCR) Golden Stags and the Lyceum of the Philippines University (LPU) Pirates in the stepladder Semis.
“Magandang bwelo para sa amin, para sa team galing panalo, tuloy-tuloy yung laro,” he added.
Balanza, though, is still wary of the Red Lions, who last game in the NCAA was back in October 17 when they hammered the Pirates, 85-62, to earn an outright Finals berth.
Still, the graduating player and the Knights team captain vows that they will give it their all in the Finals.
“Ako kasi mahirap pag matagal kang ‘di naglalaro pero ‘di natin alam yung San Beda sanay sa ganyan eh,” said the 23-year-old Balanza.
"Ibubuhos namin lahat,” added the 6-foot-1 guard.
