TNT Katropa import KJ McDaniel took the blame as their comeback fell short, absorbing their second straight loss at the hands of the Ginebra San Miguel, 96-93, on Friday.
The Katropa battled back from 14 point down at 82-68 early in the final frame. TNT embarked to a furious 10-0 blast in the final frame sparked by a Ray Parks layup and a rainbow connection. Samboy De Leon then scored on a fastbreak before an RR Pogoy trey tied the game at 92-all with 31 seconds left in the game.
Stanley Pringle however scored the go ahead basket against the outstretched arms of the McDaniels. The TNT import had the chance to tie the game with two free throws but he botched the second one as Ginebra secired the victory with Justin Brownlee free throws.
"it all came down to me making the stop first and then the free throw. You know a lot of that is on me," said McDaniels.
"That comes down with me making the free throw, if I made the free throw that could have nade the difference but that was a championship team, championship players so we just to take it in and learn from it," the American reinforcement added.
Mcdaniels however refuse to be fazed by the setback saying that the Katropa just needs to go back to the drawing board especially now that they absorbed their second straight loss after winning their first seven games.
"It is what it is, it's basketball, you win some you lose some we just got to come back stronger the next game." he said.
"I mean I feel like we gave a lot of effort we just need to come out, and execute and get stops," he added.
