Banchero not too worried about Magnolia's plethora of guards: 'We're tough defensively'

Magnolia Hotshots' newest acquisition Chris Banchero was not too worried with his new team have a plethora of guards stressing that it made them tough defensively.
Banchero, joined an already stacked line-up of the Hotshots cat-quick guards led by Paul Lee and Jio Jalalon. Also in there was Mark Barocca and Justin Melton who are also getting minutes from head coach Chito Victolero.
So far, so good for the Hotshots though as they opted to go small on a three-guard line up on the court which enabled them to pull away late in the final frame to beat the Phoenix Pulse Fuel Master 97-81.
"I think we're tough defensively we're gonna give people a hard time we got a lot of quick guard it's gonna be tough. we held them to 81 point if we can stay at that area that's how you win championships," said Banchero who was solid off the bench for the Hotshots finishing with 10 points five rebounds and three assists.
"My first game was good. I;m just happy we got the win and close it out against a team that was fighting for their lives to get to the playoffs. I though we played well tonight," he added.
For the Fil-Italian guard, the prescence of other star guards in the team just made the job easier for him.
"I don't have to try and do too much we have a lot of guys in the crew that can create and make plays so for me it make my job a lot easier," he said.
"I'm still getting used to it and I feel brand new so it's gonna take a little bit to develop that chemistry but I fell like once we have it I feel we'll gonna be a tough ball club," said Banchero who only joined the Hotshots two days prior to their Wednesday game.
His transition however was a smooth one as he gets lectures from teammates Lee and Melton, although he admiteed it will still take time to get himself full accustomed to the system ran by the Hotshots.
"It's good, Paul and Justin has really been there non-stop helping me learning the plays. coming in just two days it's tough to learn like 10 plays and 1 defenses schemes but at the end of the day we're just playing basketball outthere it wasn't too hard."
