Andrei Caracut hopes to polish game with Alab before making the leap to the PBA

It was an easy decision for Andrei Caracut to accept Alab Pilipinas' invitation to join their line-up for the coming Asean Basketball League season.
Caracut who played his last season with the De La Salle Green Archers this year, wasted no time to gain experience and polish his game before making the leap to the pro ranks. And for the 5'11" guard, there's no better way to prep up for the pro-league than playing under Coach Jimmy Alapag - one of the best guards to ever grace foot in the PBA.
Moreover, Caracut will also be pitted against the top guards in the Southeast Asia while playing with veteran playmaker Jason Brickman.
"Magandang experience to sa akin eh kasi under ka ni Coach Jimmy tapos sina Jayson Brickman, magandang experience sa akin to bago magpadraft sa PBA," said Caracut.
The De La Salle standout had his baptism of fire though playing against the country's top guards in LA Tenorio, Chris Ross, Stanley Pringle, and Scottie Thompson when the Alab played Gilas Pilipinas as part of their preparations for the respective tournaments.
"First game ko against Gilas pa, overwhelmed talaga ako, masaya ako na ganito yung experience ko na nandito na ako sa level na ito. Happy lang ako. Di siya madali pero para akin kaya ko magcompete," said Caracut who also admitted that he has still a lot to learn.
Nonetheless, a competitor that he is, Caracut just tried his best to try and showcase his wares against the country's best.
"Nagfocus lang ako sa defense naglaro lang ako pero yung ginawa ko defense lang talaga," he added.
Caracut and the rest of Alab Pilipinas will have another crack at the Philippine national team when they lock horns once again in their second tune-up game next Monday.
