Gilas Pilipinas head coach Tim Cone bared the possibility of having a tune-up game against the Alab Pilipinas in preparation for the Southeast Asian Games on December.
Cone bared that they are looking into possible tune-up games to help the players gear up for the SEA Games war and on of the option is to play Alab where Gilas assistant coach Jimmy Alapag is the head coach.
“We are still planning maybe in two weeks to have a pick-up game against one of the ABL teams, probably Alab, Jimmy’s team. We will see if that can work out,” bared Cone at the end of their second practice session last Thursday.
If pushed through, the scrimmage will come handy for both squad as Alab is also preparing for the 10th season of the ABL. It also seemed that they can give Gilas a run for their own money especially with a line-up bannered by their resident import Renaldo Balkman.
Aside from Balkman two other imports are expected to beef up the line up of Alab that already features formidable talents with Fil-American guards Jason Brickman and Jeremiah Grey. Also in the line up are Lawrence Domingo and Brandon Rosser.
