After missing SMB's finals conquest, FIBA Worlds, Marcio Lassiter eager to return to top form

by Reynald Magallon, October 12, 2019 11:57am

Marcio Lassiter has finally returned for the San Miguel Beermen after suffering from a knee injury last conference. The 6'3" gunner however admitted he was far from top shape after two months away from the court.

"It's getting there. I'm just there where I need to be at. It's a step in the right direction making progress. I'm just fortunate for being able to play tonight just being healthy," said Lassiter who played for seven minutes and 25 seconds contributing two points, three rebounds and an assist.

Lassiter was also motivated to get back to his top shape especially after missing out important games in the past two months that he was in the sidelines. Lassiter had to sit out in the Beermen's Commissioner's Cup conquest against TNT and in the 2019 FIBA World Cup where he was expected to be part of the final line-up if not for the knee injury.

"I put a lot of work in getting back into this position because I missed a lot of important games in the past two months including the final of our team in the second conference and FIBA. Those the days, I wish I could be there for," the SMB gunslinger said.

"I put a lot work and just kinda continue to grind out and get back into the game shape I need to be in," he added.

The Fil-American swingman also doesn't expect his minutes to go up anytime soon in the next few games although he said that he's already in 70 percent and just looking to get back into the game shape.

" Today, is kinda just like a feel out game for me. Hopefully each game it will be more and more (minutes)," Lassiter shared.

"Iits more of a getting into game shape, I think I'm like 70 percent right now so it will still take time, I'm just glad I didn't hurt or anything tonight."
