McAloney drops 27 points as Cebu keeps SOCCSKSARGEN winless

Will McAloney had a good scoring night for Cebu as he led the Sharks to an 89-72 victory over SOCCSKSARGEN and kept the Marlins winless on Friday in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League Lakan Cup at the STRIKE Gymnasium.
It was tied ball game at 6-6 with 3:49 left in the first quarter when McAloney scored underneath, Jeffrey Coronel scored on a layup, and McAloney completed an and-1 play to give the Sharks a 13-6 lead heading into the second canto.
The Sharks just kept pounding the rest of the way, leading 35-17 at the half, 59-32 heading into the final canto, and 89-72 after four quarters of play.
McAloney finished with 27 points, 17 rebounds, two assists, three steals, and two blocks to power Cebu to their sixth win in 15 outings. Michael Cenita added 13 points and Kevin Villafranca chipped in 10 markers.
Jake Diwa scored 17 points that also came with six boards, one steal, and one block and Norman Gonzales finished with 15 points, eight boards, and one assist but the Marlins still fell to their fifteenth defeat in as many games.
Cebu will be up for a huge challenge against the Bacoor City Strikers on October 10 while SOCCSKSARGEN will continue their hunt for their first win also on the 10th opposite the Nueva Ecija ForestLake.
