Tamsi hopes Iloilo’s win against Pampanga can motivate United Royals against Davao

The Iloilo United Royals beat a talent-laden squad in the Pampanga Giant Lanterns on Thursday, and Al-Francis Tamsi is hoping that that victory can serve as motivation for his team as they prepare to face the Davao Occidental Tigers in their next game.

Tamsi led the way for his team against Pampanga, with Aaron Jeruta also putting in the numbers.

“Focus lang kami kasi galing kami sa talo. Tsaka gusto naming makuha yung panalo para sa mga taga-Iloilo,” Tamsi said about his performance in the post-game interview. Iloilo was coming off a 52-56 defeat against the Pasay City Voyagers on September 19.

“Gagawin namin motivation ‘to kasi malakas din na team yung Pampanga. Tsaka yung kalaban namin sa September 19 Davao, number 1 sa division namin ‘yon, so kailangan naming pag-igihan pa yung depensa namin tsaka yung offense namin,” Tamsi said.

Against the Tigers though, Tamsi and Jeruta will need so much more help. The Datu Cup runners up are currently on top of the South Division with a 15-2 win-loss record. Mark Yee has been having another Most Valuable Player type of a season, while Bonbon Custodio, Chester Saldua, Yvan Ludovice, Joseph Terso, Billy Ray Robles, Emman Calo, and the rest of the squad will also be out to bring on the challenge.

By then, Iloilo will have to get excellent performances from Richard Escoto, Eric Rodriguez, Donald Gumaru, Michael Javelosa, and the rest of the guys for them to get their 10th win in 16 games.
