Kent Salado confirms he’ll play for Manila Stars after NCAA season 95 stint

Arellano University guard Kent Salado is set to play for the Manila Stars in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) Lakan Cup after his stint in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) season 95 Men’s basketball tournament.

Salado confirmed the development in a short interview with Courtside Philippines.

“Oo, sinabi ko lang dun na lalaro ako pagkatapos nito (NCAA),” said Salado.

The Chiefs’ star guard is currently one of the bright spots in Arellano’s tough season so far where it has only won four games out of its 14 outings (4-10).

While the Chiefs are struggling, Salado is not. In fact, he’s putting up the numbers in his last year in the league, including an 18-point and 12-assist performance in Arellano’s win over the University of Perpetual Help System Dalta (UPHSD) Altas last September 19.

That very performance allowed him to bag the NCAA Player of the Week award given by scribes covering the beat.

Salado also bared that he’ll be joining this year’s Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Rookie Draft slated on December 8.

“Magpapa-draft muna ako," 'The Conductor' remarked.
