NBA Analyst and two-time National Basketball Association champion Kenny Smith believes that the Kristaps Prozingis-Luka Doncic tandem of the Dallas Mavericks can change the landscape of the Western Conference if they both stay healthy.
Smith thinks that the two youngsters can be really competitive in the West, The Dallas Morning News reported.
“They can change the landscape of what people are thinking who the best teams are in the West if Porzingis is healthy,” he said.
Smith also thinks that if Porzingis can show up with the same strength and game he had as part of the New York Knicks, the 7’ 3” baller will form a formidable tandem with Doncic.
“His (Porzingis’) health is everything. If he comes back [to] any resemblance of what he was and continues to mature, that will be a great duo [with Doncic] because I feel they complement each other,” Smith said before speaking at the SMU Athletic Forum on Thursday (Philippine time).
“Kristaps plays somewhat like Dirk on the perimeter first, even though he can go inside. And then Luka... with the ball in his hands, it could be a pretty formidable duo in the next five years, seven years,” Smith continued.
