Australia completes World Cup Semis cast with convincing win over Czech Republic

Australia made history in the 2019 FIBA World Cup in China as they made it to the Semi-finals for the first time in their 12 World Cup appearances. The Aussies set up Semis date with Spain after cruising past the Czech Republic, 82-70 in their Quarterfinals pairing on Wednesday.
Patty Mills led the attack for the Boomers right from the get finishing with 24 points. It was Andrew Bogut though who put on the finishing touches for the Aussies, scoring six of his 10 points in the final five minutes of the game.
The Boomers unloaded a 14-0 blast led by Andrew Bogut and Chris Goulding to turn a 43-all deadlock into a 14 point-lead, 57-43. Tomas Satoransky broke the silence and tried to put some life to the Czech Republic with a jam at the end of the third frame. The Czechs then orchestrated a quick 6-0 run at the start of the final frame to come within eight, 63-55. An Aaron Baynes jam, Mitch Creek hook and Joe Ingles euro-step enabled the Boomers to reestablish a 69-57 advantage mid way through the final frame.
The Czech Republic refused to give up though drilling threes after threes inside the final five minutes but the Boomers led by Bogut simply had answers to every Czech baskets.
Patrik Auda paced the Czechs with 21 points while Tomas Satoransky finished with 13 markers in a losing effort.
