Magnolia gives Guiao, Ravena a rude welcome as they beat NLEX in tune-up

The Magnolia Hotshots defeated the NLEX Road Warriors, 107-93 at the Ronac Gym on Wednesday as coach Yeng Guiao returns and Kiefer Ravena returns for NLEX after carrying the flag in the 2019 world Cup in China.

The Hotshots erupted in the middle quarters scoring 34 points in the second quarter before exploding ofr 38 points to turn a 49-44 advantage at the half into an 89-73 lead coming into the final frame.

Romeo Travis led the attack for the Hotshots with 22 points while Jio Jalalon provided support with 20 markers.

The Road Warriors tried to fight back in the final frame cutting the lead down to just nine, 100-91 after a Bong Galanza trey with a little over two minutes remaining. Rafi Reavis and Kyle Pascual inside incursions inside the final two minutes sealed the victory.

Olu Ashaolu paced NLEX with 21 points while JR Quinahan added 20 markers.

Guiao and Ravena joined NLEX practice a day after their return to the country, with the NLEX guard finishing with seven points in limited minutes off the bench.
