Kemba Walker, Team USA march closer to World Cup Quarterfinals with victory over Giannis, Greece

Team USA are now close to advancing to the Quarterfinal Round of the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup with a 69-53 victory over Giannis Antetokounmpo and Greece on Saturday (Philippine time) at the Shenzhen Shenzhen Bay Sports Centre.
The Americans took a 19-17 lead at the end of the first quarter and Greece tied the game at 20-20 with a Kostas Sloukas three-pointer early in the second chapter. Jaylen Brown then scored on a layup, Marcus Smart sank three free throws, Derrick White slammed the ball into the hoop, and Khris Middleton sank two freebies to give Team USA a 29-20 lead with 6:08 left in the first half.
Team USA extended the lead to 11, 36-25, with a Myles Turner layup before Turner made two free throws for a 38-25 advantage at the half. The lead grew to 15, on a White three-ball and to 17, 54-37, at the end of the third.
The Americans simply kept the Greeks at bay the rest of the way.
Kemba Walker led Team USA with 15 points, Donovan Mitchell had 10, White and Barnes had nine each, and Brown and Turner contributed eight apiece.
Giannis Antetokounmpo had 15 points and 13 rebounds while Sloukas chipped in 13 markers. Giannis was held scoreless in the final canto and Thanasis Antetokounmpo had just one point the entire game.
With the win, Team USA has almost secured a place in the Quarterfinals with four wins, no losses, and eight points in total.
