Dallas Mavericks legend Dirk Nowitzki and National Basketball Association Hall of Famer Steve Nash will have a reunion on September 15, this time on the tennis court, reported.

Nowitzki and Nash will be partners in the round-robin competition of the fourth annual Dirk Nowitzki Pro Celebrity Tennis Classic at the SMU Tennis Complex in Texas. The tennis event will be from 11 am to 3 pm.

Nowitzki and Nash played side-by-side with the Mavericks from 1998 to 2004, forming one of the most iconic and dynamic duos in the league. They also got to play with another Hall of Famer in Jason Kidd. Nowitzki officially announced his retirement from the NBA on April 9 this year. He’ll be in the Hall of Fame in a few years.

While Nowitzki and Nash may have not won a championship together, they did have their own individuals successes. Nowitzki was the 2007 NBA MVP before winning the NBA crown and the Finals MVP in 2011, along with Kidd.

Nash won the MVP award in 2005 and in 2006. Though he did not win a championship as a player, the Canadian star was a team consultant of Golden State when head coach Steve Kerr—along with Stars Steph Curry, Kevin Durant, and Klay Thompson—led the Warriors to the NBA championship in 2017 and in 2018.

Nowitzki and Nash will be facing some stars in the tennis tournament. Tommy Haas—a 2000 Olympic silver medalist and former World No. 2—will also play, along with Mark Knowles—Grand Slam doubles champ and five-time Olympian. TV Actor Boris Kodjoe will also compete.
