Mitchell, Walker star as Team USA cruises past Spain in exhibition game

Donovan Mitchell and Kemba Walker teamed up to lead Team USA to a solid 90-81 victory over Spain in a tuneup matchup on Saturday (Philippine time) at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California, reported.

Mitchell led all US scorers with 13 points while Walker finished with 11 points, six rebounds, and eight assists.

The game was the last domestic exhibition for Team USA before they fly to Australia for some more training camp. They will then go to China to try to win the gold in the FIBA Basketball World Cup starting August 31.

Fourteen players are currently part of the roster, namely: Harrison Barnes (Sacramento Kings); Jaylen Brown (Boston Celtics); De’Aaron Fox (Sacramento Kings); Joe Harris (Brooklyn Nets); Kyle Kuzma (Los Angeles Lakers); Brook Lopez (Milwaukee Bucks); Khris Middleton (Milwaukee Bucks); Donovan Mitchell (Utah Jazz); Mason Plumlee (Denver Nuggets), Marcus Smart (Boston Celtics); Jayson Tatum (Boston Celtics);Myles Turner (Indiana Pacers); Kemba Walker (Boston Celtics); and Derrick White (San Antonio Spurs).

Head coach Gregg Popovich will have to decide on his Final 12 before the start of the tournament.
