Soberano glad to regain confidence in San Beda’s win over Perpetual

Senior guard AC Soberano is happy to rediscover his confidence in the San Beda University’s (SBU) rout of University of Perpetual Help System Dalta (UPHSD), 102-56, on Friday in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) season 95 at the FilOil Flying V Centre.

Soberano flashed his deadly form as he buried five of his nine triples to score 15 points and help lead the Red Lions in devouring the Altas for their sixth win in as many games.

“Happy ako kasi medyo bumalik na yung kumpyansa ko sana magtuloy-tuloy na,” said the 25-year-old Soberano, who struggled to find his rhythym early in the season as he came off a foot injury.

But Soberano wasn’t about to take credits for his performance.

The six-foot guard gave credits to his teammates and coaches for helping him out to rise above his frustration and pushing him to keep working hard, instead.

“Credits sa teammates ko pati sa mga coaches. Honestly, sobrang frustrated ako the past few games akala ko hindi ako makakabalik. So nagpapasalamat ako sa mga teammates ko, sila yung nagpu-push sa akin para mag work hard din at yun nga, para ka makabalik ako.”

Soberano said that him having a solid game and the Red Lions scoring a big win at the Altas’ expense is huge for them as they will play the also formidable team in the Lyceum of the Philippines University Pirates on Tuesday.
