Gilas Pilipinas mainstay and captain Gabe Norwood assured everyone that his injury was nothing serious and will not affect Gilas' campaign in the World Cup.
With less than a month remaining before the World Meet, Norwood sat out on a couple of games in Gilas' training camp in Spain where they were able to face national teams of Congo and Cote d' Ivoire.
Norwood apprently tweaked his groin but the veteran cager played down the injury.
"I just tweaked my groin a little bit right now, feel pretty good to be honest," said Norwood.
Norwood didn't participate on Gilas' five-on-five practice on Thursday but the 6'5" lock down defender insisted that it was just a precautionary measure.
"I'm actually feeling a lot better. I was able to get up and down a little bit more today, it's just really precautionary measure now probably in the next day, I'll be back on five-on-five and be good to go for the tune up games and everything else moving forward," he added.
However saw the silver lining of the injury saying he was able to understand and see the game from a different perspective.
"It's actually good for me to seee the game from a different angle so I think I was able to soaked in as much as I could, look into everybody's strength and weaknesses form my vantage point," said Norwood.
"It was a different training camp for me. first time ever being really able to sit out, I think I've only missed three or four games in the PBA in my whole career. Just trying to learn as much as I could and be along with coaching staff as much as I could in terms of the things we can work on."
