Terrence Jones acknowledged his Talk 'N Text KaTropa and his family after he was named the Best Import of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Commissioner's Cup.
"I just wanna thanks all my teammates, without them if wouldn't be possible. My family whom I'm doing this for also to inspire the youth over here. The coaching staff and the whole organization for giving me this opportunity and it's a blessing."
"I'm just happy to receive that award and I'm also happy my teammate, Jayson Castro, won an award as well."
The former NBA veteran was the unanimous choice for the award garnering a total of 1254 statistical points. Jones topped the former awardee, Justin Brownlee of the Brgy. Ginebra San Miguel with 882 statistical points.
The 6'10" import believed it was the team's total effort that put him and co-awardee Jayson Castro in their respective awards.
"We work hard as a team, to put ourselves in the position where we are the number one seed and the chemistry. To believe in one another since day one," he said.
Jones also emphasized the importance of the award to him and to his son who has a Filipino blood.
"It brings me joy as a father, as a basketball player it brings me a lot of joy. Great be to God without Him it wouldn't be possible. He put me in a position to be able to show my son a way to follow my footsteps and also to learn about his culture and I'm just happy to be here."
Putting the joy aside, Jones still has an unfinished business to do as they vie to take a 3-2 finals series lead against the San Miguel Beermen on Wednesday.
