Castro bags Commissioner's Cup BPC; Jones takes home Best Import award

The TNT Katropa duo of Jayson Castro and Terrence Jones bagged the highest honors in the 2019 Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Commissioner's Cup before the start of the Game Four of the TNT-San Miguel Finals series at the Araneta Coliseum on Sunday
Castro took home the Best Player of the Conference Award garnering a total of 1077 points from the statistical points, media votes, players votes and PBA votes. 'The Blur' beat out five-time MVP June Mar Fajardo (762 points) and the three super rookies in Ray Parks (576) CJ Perez (428) and Robert bolick (421).
Castro who won his fifth BPC award, only placed third in the statistical points but got unanimous votes from the Media, players and the PBA.
Meanwhile, Terrence Jones was the unanimous winner of the Best Import of the Conference award after guiding the TNT Katropa to a first seed finish in the eliminations before cruising past the Alaska Aces and Ginebra San Miguel in the playoffs.
Jones got a total of 1254 points topping all categories from the stats, media votes, players votes and PBA votes. The former Houston Rocket beat out Ginebra San Miguel resident import Justin Brownlee (882), Finals rival and San Miguel Beer import Chris McCullough (729) and Rain or Shine's Carl Montgomery (399).
Jones and Castro currently leading the TNT Katropa in their Finals conquest against the San Miguel Beermen in hopes to end a two-year title drought. They lead the series 2-1 and can move a win away from title should they win tonight.
