Caloocan arrests four game skid while handing Pasay fourth straight defeat

The Muntinlupa Cagers flipped the second half to secure a 78-72 win against the visiting Pasay Voyagersin the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) Lakan Cup at Caloocan Sports Complex on Tuesday.
Almond Vosotros came up clutch for the home team hitting a step back three-pointer, 77-72, after Pasay came to a point deficit while calmly sinking two free throws with 13 seconds left to ice the game.
Vosotros finished with 22 points along with four rebounds and five assists as they avoided sliding deeper in the standings.
Paul Sanga and Rene Pacquiao were also huge during the game as they scored 15 and 10 points, respectively.
Meanwhile, Axel Inigo's 20-point game for Pasay went empty as well as Ron Lastimosa's 10 markers.
Caloocan is now back in the winning track with a 2-4 win-loss card while Pasay dropped their fourth straight and now holds a 3-5 record.
It was a physical game from the get-go as Mark Sarangay already suffered a bloodied lips 32 seconds after the jump ball on a collision with Raymond Ilagan forcing him to the bench early.
Lastimosa drilled consecutive three-pointers for Pasay but Rene Pacquiao answered with three inside buckets. Inigo then drilled another three-pointer for the visiting team to lead, 23-19, after the first quarter.
Pasay made a 7-0 run to open the second frame, 30-19. Vosotros cut the lead to five on the three-pointer before Lastimosa sunk two charities to carry a 37-30 advantage heading into the dugout.
Paul Sanga caught early fire, connecting two straight triples and a Vosotros jumper retake Caloocan's lead, 38-37.
The Supremos managed a 56-49 lead off a 5-0 run before the third quarter buzzer.
In the final frame, Caloocan was able to build their largest lead at 62-49 off John Gonzales free throws but Pasay bombed away three straight triples and a Don Reverente's and-one play inched them by a point down, 72-73 with 1:23 minutes left.
Scaring a late comeback, Vosotros conspired a personal 5-0 run to end the game, 78-72.
