Elorde talks about heated exchange with Romeo, Ross

NorthPort Batang Pier's Nico Elorde shared his side of the story on his heated exchange with San Miguel Beermen Terrence Romeo and Chris Ross in the PBA Commissioner's Cup Quarterfinals at the Araneta Coliseum last Sunday.
As for his spat against Romeo in the early goings of the fourth quarter, Elorde said all he did was just hard-nosed defense, which he said the type of defense he usually exerts every time he takes the court.
The 5-foot-9 point guard added he isn't someone to back down against anybody.
"Part lang naman ng game yun. Alam naman natin na ganun lang talaga ako dumepensa. Palaban siya, palaban din ako, walang aatras," Elorde told reporters moments after his team bowed to San Miguel, 98-84.
"Depensa lang naman, ganun naman ako lagi every game. Nakita niyo naman ganun ako dumepensa so yung lang. Part naman ng game yun eh. Ganoon lang talaga ako maglaro. Hindi ako aatras kahit kanino kasi trabaho lang namin 'to, kailangan naming manalo."
Elorde got the better of Romeo, drawing two consecutive fouls on his former teammate. That prompted the Beermen head coach Leo Austria to take the five-time All-Star out of the game.
Later on, Elorde had a shouting match against Ross whom he sent to the floor with a shove.
For the former Ateneo De Manila University Blue Eagle, Ross exagerated and flopped.
"Ewan ko dun. Flop nga yung ginawa niya eh, 'di ko nga alam eh. Tumalsik lang siya tapos ewan ko, ini-exagerate."
Meanwhile, Elorde said the Batang Pier, who just lost their twice-to-beat incentive, have to be ready on Wednesday as they try to get into the Semifinals at the Beermen's expense.
"Kaya naman kami nandito kasi twice-to-beat kami, so my chance pa kami, hindi pa naman tapos ang basketball so kelangan lang maging ready kami kung ano man yung resulta o tawagan, basta ready lang kami."
