by Niel Victor Masoy, July 22, 2019 5:44pm

Kobe Paras seized the 2019 Buddha’s Light International Association Cup Most Valuable Player award on Sunday.

This, after the 6-foot-6 forward put up 19.6 points per game in the tournament which was highlighted by his 37-point outing in the Finals against Chien Hsin University.

With that output, he carried the University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons past Chien Hsin, 97-93, in the big dance of the BLIA Cup to clinch the title also on Sunday in Kaohsiung, Taiwan.

UP completed a five-game sweep of the competition and became the second Philippine-based school to rule the BLIA Cup after the De La Salle University Green Archers did so in 2017.
