Kobe Paras unleashed an impeccable offensive performance to carry the University of the Philippines (UP) past Chien Hsin University, 97-93, and claim the 2019 Buddha's Light International Association Cup title on Sunday in Kaohsiung, Taiwan.

Paras dropped 37 points, including 15 in the fourth quarter, which was highlighted by a thunderous dunk that gave the Fighting Maroons a 94-83 cushion with 1:27 left in regulation.

But Chien Hsin didn’t go down without a fight as it came within three points, 94-91, with 37.8 ticks remaining in the game.

Paras and Jaybie Mantilla, however, sealed the win for UP by canning their free throws.

With the victory, the Fighting Maroons completed a five-game sweep of the tournament. They also became the second Philippine-based school to rule the BLIA Cup after the De La Salle University Green Archers did so in 2017.
