Topex Robinson apologizes to his LPU Pirates after their loss to EAC
by Niel Victor Masoy, July 19, 2019 7:21pm
Lyceum of the Philippines University head coach Topex Robinson admitted his shortcomings in the Pirates stunning loss to the Emilio Aguinaldo College Generals last Friday.
For Robinson, he said he was focused so much on winning that game that he forgot LPU’s brand of basketball which is predicated on enjoyment.
“Personally, I apologized to the team because I was so focused on winning the game that I forgot about what really worked for us which is about our love, serve and care,” Robinson said.
“The moment we stop enjoying our game is going to be our downfall. I was the one that forced them (my players) to not enjoy the game so it was a learning experience for me as their coach,” the former PBA player added.
Robinson, though, shared that no one from the Pirates were hard on him. And that is because everyone in the LPU team is allowed to make mistakes.
“I’m just happy that we got back and they were even the ones telling me that I wasn’t their coach during EAC game,” he said.
“The good thing about this team is everybody is allowed to make mistakes and I really admit my shortcomings about EAC,” he added.
