Add Shaquille O’neal to the list of people who aren’t fans of NBA super teams.
In an appearance at the Jimmy Kimmel Live show, the former league superstar shared he wouldn’t join the NBA super teams of today.
Instead, Shad said he would rather beat those super teams.
“I’m from the era where guys wanted to compete and beat each other,” Shaq replied after Kimmel asked him whether he would join the today's Los Angeles Lakers or the Los Angeles Clippers, who have superstar duos of LeBron James and Anthony Davis, and Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, respectively.
“I would wait to see who’s teaming up and doing that and I would go on a team that needs a superstar and I would teach those guys how to beat the superteams,” O’neal added.
Ironically, O’neal formed a super team with Kobe Bryant before as they powered the Lakers to three straight championships (2000-2002).
The Diesel also teamed up with Dwayne Wade and the duo carried the Miami Heat to the 2006 NBA title.
