Victolero unfazed by Magnolia's recent struggles: 'We need to stay positive'

Magnolia Hotshots head coach Chito Victolero is unfazed by his team's recent struggles, and remains positive about their chance at making into the Quarterfinals.
The Hotshots had three chances to clinch a spot in the Top 8, but they lost three straight, the first one against the Blackwater Elite, followed by the Ginebra San Miguel, and just last night at the hands of the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters, 82-86.
"Ang maganda lang naman sabi ko sa mga players ko, we need to stay positive kasi wala naman matutulong yung negativity. Walang matutulong kung magdu-dwell kami sa last three games namin. Walang matutulong iyon," said Victolero.
The three-game slide put the Hotshots' tournament in limbo. They are in dire need of a victory to clinch a spot in the playoffs, however, that would be easier said than done, especiially because they will be facing the league-leading TNT KaTropa in their final assignment.
"Mabigat, mahirap.I don't know, siguro may problema talaga yung depensa namin. Again we have a chance, pero di namin ma-finish eh. Siguro we need to check ourselves siguro," Victolero said.
"Ang maganda nito, medyo malayo pa yung next game namin. Siguro we can review everything, kung anong kulang, kung ano yung mali, said Victolero.
The veteran mentor, though, called out his players to have a sense of urgency in the most crucial game so far in the tournament for Magnolia.
"Kilala ko naman yung team ko, how they bounce back, kung gaano katibay mga dibdib nila. But yun nga, we need to have that sense of urgency sa next game namin, which is the only chance para makasigurado kami sa Quarterfinals," Victolero said.
"Maganda lang don, nasa kamay pa namin (playoff hopes)"
