'RK is special' but coach Macaraya wants every Golden Stag to be involved in offense

RK Ilagan showed his impecabble scoring prowess once more in the San Sebastian College - Recoletos Golden Stags' 82-51 demolition of the Jose Rizal University Heavy Bombers on Tuesday at the San Juan Arena.
The 5-foot-7 guard unloaded 25 points on an efficient 9-of-17 shooting from the field, including 5-of-9 from beyond the arc.
As good as Ilagan was offensively, San Sebastian head coach Egay Macaraya wants every Golden Stag to be involved in offense.
"Gumamit na kami ng motion offense ngayon, but I guess RK is special na kahit saan siya, tumitira na ng halfcourt, pumapasok pa rin, I don't know," Macaraya said of Ilagan, who also added five assists and three rebounds to his name.
"I want everybody to be involved in offense, and that is why I installed our motion offense. Hopefully, it will click and mag-materialize din sa lahat ng games namin."
Knowing the competitiveness of the NCAA, Macaraya said it would be hard if only two of his top scorers in Ilagan and Allyn Bulanadi would carry the load offensively for San Sebastian. He said it has to be a total team effort for the Golden Stags if they are to go toe-to-toe against every NCAA team.
"Ang hinihingi ko palagi is I want everybody to step up, kasi hindi na pwede na dalawang tao lang o limang tao lang yung maglalaro. Besides, nakita niyo naman ang competitiveness ng NCAA. Yung JRU naninibago siguro, but I know they will be competitive the next game," Macaraya remarked.
"So mahirap talaga if you rely on three to four guys."
