PBA Legends Faceoff: San Miguel, Alaska end elimination campaigns with victories

The San Miguel Beermen and the Alaska Milkmen ended their respective elimination campaigns on a high note as they scored separate wins in the UNTV Cup PBA Legends Faceoff on Sunday at the Pasig Sports Center.

San Miguel toppled the Barangay Ginebra Kings, 135-107, in the main game.

Allan Caidic flashed his deadly shooting once more, scoring 32 points built on nine triples. Kiko Adriano scored 18 points while Chris Calaguio added 17 markers in the win.

The Dynamite Danny Seigle step foot in the competition for the first time and help the Beermen with his 14 points.

Vince Hizon exploded for the Gin Kings with 41 points as Marlo Aquino provided the support with his 19 points. Bennet Palad chipped in 16 markers in a losing effort.

San Miguel finished its elimination campaign unbeaten with a 3-0 slate as Ginebra ended its own with a 2-1 card.

In the earlier game, Alaska beat the Purefoods Hotdogs, 92-70.

The Flying A Johnny Abarientos showcased his scoring and playmaking prowess as he finished the match with 25 points and 16 assists.

Bong Hawkins backstopped the former PBA MVP by putting up 15 points and seven caroms. Willie Miller poured in 14 points in the triumph.

The four-time PBA MVP Alvin Patrimonio showed the way for Purefoods with 12 markers and eight rebounds. Glenn Capacio chipped in 15 points that went for naught.

Alaska finished the eliminations with a 2-1 win-loss card while Purefoods failed to notch a win with a 0-3 record.
