Northport Batang Pier sent top court tactician Stanley Pringle along with a first round draft pick in the upcoming Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Rookie Draft to Barangay Ginebra San Miguel, sources tell Courtside Philippines.
Fil-American Pringle, who was named as last year's scoring champion, was dealed in exchange for swingman Kevin Ferrer, guard Sol Mercado, and forward Jervy Cruz in a blockbuster trade that looks bolster the roster of the two squads.
The 32-year-old point guard, despite only seeing action for two games this conference and is still recovering for a bone spur removal surgery in his right angkle, is a welcome addition to Ginebra's bid to retain their Commissioner's Cup title.
Pringle will be joining guard duo of L.A. Tenorio and Scottie Thompson in the back-court of the Gin Kings as he looks to restart his career with his new team after his five-year tenure with the Batang Pier.
On the other hand, Northport looks to improve their chances of grabbing a piece of silverware with the addition of veterans Mercado and Cruz together with third year player Ferrer.
