Cedric Pelayo is returning to the San Juan Knights lineup for the next Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League season with a ‘whatever it takes’ attitude.

In an interview with Courtside Philippines’ AC Ong, Pelayo said that he is willing to do ‘whatever it takes’ just for him to help the team win a second-straight championship.

“Everyone can expect me to bring constant energy day in and day out. Also, to do whatever the team needs me to do to help us win, whether it be to defend [the opposing team’s] best player or to reply on my outside shooting,” Pelayo said.

“Whatever it takes, I’m willing to do to help us win,” he added.

The former Mapua Cardinal also said that he is truly honored to be given another chance by the Knights.

“It is truly an honor that San Juan has kept me for [next] conference. I don’t really feel pressure, but even more motivated to improve and push myself, to step up this season to help any way I can for us to go back-to-back,” he said.

Pelayo also wishes that the team’s fans will be ready to support the squad as they go to war next season.

“To the San Juan fans, I hope you guys are ready to support and go to war with us again this coming season as we defend our title and journey towards back-to-back championships,” he said.

Pelayo played 12 games for the Knights in the Datu Cup with averages of 2.5 points, 1.17 rebounds, 0.58 assists, and 7.85 minutes.
