Pringle vows to be even better in two games
by Jaelle Nevin Reyes, May 30, 2019 3:00pm
Northport Batang Pier point guard Stanley Pringle had a noteworthy comeback in their squad’s 110-86 win over the TNT KaTropa in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup on Wednesday evening but explained that he expects to be even better in their next games.
Pringle, who was out nursing a foot injury in the first two games of the Batang Pier, made his comeback in high fashion with an impressive output of 22 points points while adding three assists and two rebounds in their victory at the Mall of Asia Arena.
The 2018 PBA scoring champion was also on fire from beyond the arc, draining five out of his eight shots from deep to torch the defense of the KaTropa.
“I’m glad I was hitting my threes because I could not really get too much explosion off my right foot but its slowly coming back,” Pringle said.
“In maybe two more games, I will be able to play the whole game fast. I’m just waiting and trying to be patient,” he added.
The 32-year-old veteran cager had a small fracture and had three bone spurs taken out of his right foot but commended their team’s medical staff for helping in his fast recovery.
“It feels good. I would to thank the medical staff for rehabbing (my injury) and helping me recover fast,” he mentioned.
The Batang Pier are currently on top of the standings with an unblemished record of three wins, tied with the Blackwater Eliter, and will play their fourth game in the tournament against Barangay Ginebra San Miguel this coming Saturday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
