Justine Baltazar, La Salle Green Archers dominate AU Chiefs

Justine Baltazar and Encho Serrano led the charge as the De La Salle Green Archers erupted in the second half en route to a 95-62 dominance over the Arellano University Chiefs on Thursday in the 2019 FilOil Flying V Preseason Premier Cup in San Juan.
Baltazar dropped 21 points and 16 rebounds while Serrano finished with 16 markers, 11 boards, 3 assists, and zero turnovers to lead La Salle to their third-straight win and fourth overall in five outings, currently third in Group A standings.
La Salle engaged in a back-and-forth first half with the Chiefs before posting a 61-48 lead at the end of three quarters. The Green Archers led by as many as 35 points, 95-60, in the fourth.
Dariel Bayla paced Arellano with 19 points and seven rebounds while Kent Salado added 14 markers as the Chiefs slid to 0-4, last in the same group.
In the first game, the Jose Rizal University Heavy Bombers got their first win of the tournament, 84-78, at the expense of the Emilio Aguinaldo College Generals.
Agem Miranda had for 25 points, four assists, and four steals; Louise Delos Santos chipped in 16 markers, three assists, and three steals; and Ry Dela Rosa added 14 points. JRU got their first win in their fourth try.
Chester Carlos led EAC with 17 points while JC Luciano had 12 points and 13 boards, but the Generals dropped to 1-3.
The two teams are tied at the bottom of Group B.
