Rivero, Abarrientos headline Gilas' final roster in FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup

UP Fighting Maroons guard Ricci Rivero and former FEU baby tamarraws guard RJ ABarrientos headlined the final Gilas Pilipinas 3x3 roster in the FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup slated on May 22-26 in Changsha, China.
San Beda's Rhayan Amsali and FEU's Barkley Ebona will join the two as they vie for a spot in Pool Phase and join China and New Zealand Pool B. The Philippine quartet still however need to overcome Qatar, Iran, Samoa and Thailand and top the Qualifying Draw phase to book a ticket to the next round.
The Philippine team will be banking on their youth to outplay and outrun their veteran counter parts although Amsali, Rivero and Abarrientos already have experience in FIBA 3x3 when they formed the core of the Philippine team that saw action in the FIBA3x3 U23 in Xi'an, China in 2018.
The Qualifying phase is set to happen on the first two days of the event. Gilas 3x3 will face Thailand and Qatar on the first day while they will square off against Iran and Samoa on the second day.
Here are the pools of all participants in the event.
Qualifying Draw A: Qatar, Philippines, Iran, Samoa, Thailand.
Qualifying Draw B: South Korea, India, Malaysia, Vanuatu.
Qualifying Draw C: Kyrgyzstan, Sri Lanka, Chinese Taipei, Vietnam.
Pool A: Japan, Turkmenistan, Jordan.
Pool B: China, New Zealand, QD A winners.
Pool C: Mongolia, Australia, QD B winners.
Pool D: Indonesia, Kazakhstan, QD C winners.
Meanwhile, Jack Danielle Aminam, Afril Bernardino, Janine Pontejos and Glaiza Castro make up the Gilas Pilipinas 3x3 women. They will be in the Qualifying group A with the winner will have the virtue of joining Pool C with Japan and Sri Lanka
