San Miguel has no experience advantage over Magnolia, says Fajardo

Even though San Miguel is gunning for their fifth-straight Philippine Cup championship tonight, the Beermen do not have an experience advantage against the Magnolia Hotshots in Game 7 of the Finals tonight, according to the five-time PBA MVP June Mar Fajardo.
Fajardo knows that Mark Barroca, Paul Lee, Rafi Reavis, and the rest of the Hotshots also have a lot of experience, especially since they won the 2018 Governor’s Cup, the third tournament of the last season.
“Hindi mo din masasabing advantage namin yung experience e kasi yung Magnolia, ang taas na din ng experience nila. Kapapanalo lang nila ng championship,” Fajardo said.
“Wala nang advantage, parang cancel out na yon,” Fajardo added.
The 6’ 10” behemoth also said that he still feels the pressure of a Game 7 in the Finals even to this day.
“Hindi naman mawawala yung kaba. Kailangan mo lang i-minimize ‘yon, wag mo lang masyadong iisipin,” he said.
Fajardo believes that, through the pressure, the Beermen should play their own type of game and not be caught in a race against the Hotshots.
“Laruin lang namin yung game namin, sundin lang namin yung game plan namin. Kasi no'ng Game 5 masyadong tentative kami, gusto namin tapusin agad yung game, tapos takbo kami nang takbo. Mapapagod ako nang husto ‘pag ganun e,” he said.
“Basta mag set plays lang kami, ayun yung laro namin,” Fajardo added.
Game 7 of the Finals is set at 7 p.m. tonight at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
