Lillard, McCollum carry Blazers over Nuggets

Backcourt partners Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum carried the Portland Trail Blazers as they extend their journey in the Western Conference Semifinals with a win over the Denver Nuggets, 119-108, at the Moda Center on Friday (Philippine time).
The two guards, who were instrumental in sending the series to an all-or-nothing Game Seven, combined for a total of 62 points with Lillard taking home 32 points including six three-pointers while McCollum sinking 30 markers on a 12-of-24 shooting performance from the field.
Rodney Hood also made his presence felt against the defense of the Nuggets with 25 points off the bench while Zach Collins added 14 markers.
It was a closely contested battle between the two squads throughout with the Blazers only leading by only seven points after three quarters of play but the managed to explode for 32 points in the final frame to seal their victory in front of their home fans.
For Denver, it was an all Nikola Jokic show as he led his squad with 29 points, 12 boards, and eight assists.
